Owyhee Canyonlands Upcoming Events

Learn how to get out in the Owyhee Canyonlands and why they deserve permanent protection in two great events coming to the Portland area and three to the east.

Join the Owyhee Coalition and the Oregon Natural Desert Association at the REI Portland store on Wednesday, October 7 and at the REI Tualatin on Tuesday, October 13 to learn about visiting the Owyhee Canyonlands. Check out photos and video of red rock-day hikes, tantalizing hot springs and undiscovered backpacking opportunities in this remote and beautiful section of southeastern Oregon. ONDA Outreach Coordinator Matt Kertman will let you know how to get there, what to bring, and the best times to go. And both events are free.

In The Dalles, Pendleton and Walla Walla, Wash., Bonnie Olin, author of "The Owyhee River Journals," will share her expertise on the Owyhee Canyonlands during a talk at The Dalles-Wasco County Public Library on Saturday, October 24. This event is also free and no registration is required.
