There is continual calm along the Owyhee River at Greeley Bar.
Here, you pull into a sandy beach surrounded by Oregon red rock and the tranquility of the desert. The trilling call of the canyon wren serenades you as you set up your tent and unroll the sleeping pad for the night. Hot springs await just upriver from camp where you can relax and take it all in.
Usually the final stop before the take-out at Birch Creek Ranch, camping at Greeley Bar is limited to one night, and for good reason. This place marks one of the finest boating camps in Oregon. It’s part of what makes the Owyhee Canyonlands exceptional.
