The Owyhee remains distant and unexplored by most. Yet it offers spectacular red-rock scenery, prime wildlife habitat and recreation opportunities that range from hiking to fishing to paddling. Protection would make sure this area of Oregon remains one of the most remote, beautiful and undisturbed natural areas in the West.

Letter: Protect the Owyhee
As a hiker, lover of the outdoors and a sustainable architect, I respectfully urge Sen. Ron Wyden to support permanent protection of the Owyhee Canyonlands. It is critical for our state’s recreation and tourism economy and our overall quality of life that we protect the places that make Oregon special.
