Friends of the Owyhee is a new group dedicated to restoration and preservation of the Owyhee Canyonlands in Oregon.

In highlighting its favorite places around the globe, Outside magazine zeroes in on Oregon's Owyhee Canyonlands, saying, "the chocolate rhyolite walls are so spectacular that it would be a well-known natural wonder if it weren’t so remote."

The journey from Leslie Gulch to Lake Owyhee State Park along the Oregon Desert Trail is highlighted in this statewide magazine.
